Currently working as a Machine Learning Scientist at the Transaction Risk Management Services group at Amazon.com.
Oct 2006: Received PhD in Computer Engineering from University of Texas at Austin under Prof. Joydeep Ghosh. Developed algorithms and tools for discovering small, pure clusters in diverse scenarios where the data is large, high-dimensional, and where conventional clustering algorithms don't work very well because of the data being very noisy- examples include almost any large, real-world clustering problems, but especially market-basket data, high-througput bioinformatics datasets, and many types of web data.

May 2005-Aug 2005: Worked for the Buyer Risk Management group at Amazon.com, where I built fraud detection models.

May 2002-Jan 2004: Worked at Standard & Poor's, Risk Solutions Group, in Santa Fe, New Mexico and New York city.

Jun 2000-May 2003: Worked at i2 Technologies, while also working on my PhD part-time.

Aug 1998-Jun 2000: MS from ECE, UT Austin, while also working part-time for KD1 (now a part of Net Perceptions).

1995-1998: Worked as a software engineer for Infosys (1995-1997), Samsung Electronics at Seoul (1997), and MCI (1997-98).

1991-1995: B-Tech in Computer Science & Engineering from Institute of Technology, Banaras Hindu University.
